Richard Smith, 66, of Clovis, NM passed away April 14, 2016 in Amarillo, TX.
There will not be a viewing. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, April 19, 2016 at 2 pm at the chapel of Steed Todd Funeral Home with Charlie Overton of Yeso, NM officiating. Arrangements are made by Steed Todd Funeral Home.
Richard was born in Fort Sumner, NM to Birdie Dee and Louise Smith on August 29, 1949. He went to Fort Sumner schools. Richard married Katy Smith Starbuck on February 21, 1969 and they had 3 wonderful girls. He later married to Donna Smith on Aug 6, 1997 in Las Vegas, NV.
Richard worked for the Santa Fe Railroad from 1968 to 1989. The last 10 years Richard and Donna Smith have ran their own company, RDS Goats. Richard loved the outdoors. He enjoyed hunting and fishing. He was full of life and spending time with his family was one of his greatest joys in life.
Richard is preceded in death by his father B.D Smith; mother Louise McLain Smith; infant daughter Lora Marie Smith and brother, Mac Day Smith; and a brother-in-law, Tony Peterpaul.
Richard is survived by his wife, Donna Smith; 3 daughters, Sonya (Wayne) Hill of Colorado, Tonya Jolley of Clovis, and Wendy (Robbie) Edwards of Clovis; Step-son, Josh Mason; Brother, David (Dana) Smith of Roswell; 2 sisters, Sherry Peterpaul and Sandy Copeland of Fort Sumner; 8 grandchildren, Lorra Garza, Shyanne Lindroos, Kayla Teel, Brody Edwards, Kolten Jolley, Morgan Edwards, Dravyen Harrell and Gunner Edwards; Great-grandson, Brayden Lindroos.
