Richard Mendez

Richard T. Mendez, age 67 passed away on Tuesday, April 12, 2011 at his home in Clovis, New Mexico. He was born on October 3, 1943 in Clovis, New Mexico to Fred and Tillie GarciaMendez. Richard married Marie Mendez on December 24, 1965 in Clovis, who passed away on June 1, 2004.

He was a welder and also worked for BNSF Railroad and drove a concrete truck. His passion was riding his motorcycle and attending motorcycle rallies. He played BINGO and enjoyed drinking coffee with his friends at Mc Donalds.

He is survived by his two sons, Richard Mendez of the home and Nathan Tram Vo Mendez of Hutto, Texas one sister, Bennie Saiz of California four brothers, Sonny Mendez of California, Jody Frances Mendez of California, Arthur Anastacia Mendez of Tempe, Arizona, Rito Martha Mendez of Las Cruces, New Mexico and one uncle, George Pepa Mendez of Clovis, New Mexico. He was preceeded in death by his wife Marie his sister Ramona Webber and his parents, Fred and Tillie Mendez.

A mass will be held at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church on Saturday, April 16, 2011 at 2:00 p.m. with Father Sotero Sena, officiating. Burial will follow at Mission Garden of Memories. Pallbearers will be Elmo Garcia, Freddy Garcia, Allan Webber, Nick Dominguez, James Dominguez, and Andres Griego.

The family would like to thank VistaCare Hospice and Covenant Medical Center in Lubbock for their compassion and care they gave. Their hard work and dedication is greatly appreciated.
