Robbie Johnson

Robbie Johnson, age 79, of Farwell, Texas passed away on July 10, 2012 at Farwell Care and Rehab in Farwell, Texas.

Ten minutes after the birth of her sister Bobbie, much to everyones surprise, Robbie L. Bums was born to Jack and Zula Burns on Sept 29, 1932 in Levelland, TX. She married the love of her life, William Calvin Johnson, in July 1952.

Soon after their marriage, they started their family and had six boys: Berl Dwayne, William Calvin Bill, Robert Lynn, John Alen, Charles Andrew and Rodger Que and then later moved to Lariat, TX in 1962.

After living in a household full of boys, she finally acquired six daughters in law: Dinah, wife of Berl April, wife of Bill Tammie, wife of Robert Jolinda, wife of John Lorri, wife of Charles and Brenda, wife of Rodger. This resulted in Robbie becoming the proud grandmother of thirteen grandchildren and twentynine great grandchildren.

Over the years, as well as being a housewife and mother, she also worked at the Farwell School
Cafeteria, Dairy Queen, Farwell Convalescent Center, and WallMart. She became a member of the Texico First Baptist Church in the mid 70s.

After breaking her leg in 2010, she became a resident at the Farwell Convalescent and Rehab Center until the time of her death on July 10, 2012.

She was preceded in death by her husband Calvin, her parents, Jack and Zula Burns, and a brother, Roland Burns of Milwaukee, Wisconsin.

Memorial Services are at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, July 13, 2012 at Texico First Baptist Church in Texico, New Mexico with Rob Hollis officiating. Honorary Casket Bearers are Robbies thirteen grandchildren: Russell Johnson, Robert Andrew Johnson, Brian Johnson, Jake Johnson, Aaron Johnson, Leslie Martinez, Virginia Kyle, Summer Johnson, Robbie Johnson, December Oglesby, Echo Johnson, Carla Hall and Angel Bowman. Private burial will follow at Sunset Terrace Memorial Park in Farwell, Texas.
