Robbie Lee Wicker passed away peacefully on Saturday, September 19, 2009. Robbie, a long time resident of Clovis, New Mexico was born in Plainview, Texas on June 21, 1920, the daughter of Benjamin and Maye White Long.
Robbie Lee was a member of Parkland Baptist Church. She served actively, holding numerous offices at the local and state level, for many decades in numerous organizations including Rebeccas, Eastern Star, Daughters of the American Revolution, United Daughters of the Confederacy, and the PRMC Ladies' Auxiliary. She was very involved in genealogy research. Our beloved mother and grandmother was also an avid artist. She was an oil painter, needle pointer, skilled seamstress, and had numerous other art endeavors.
Robbie Lee is survived by her brother, Rev. R. A. Long of Los Lunas, New Mexico; a daughter - Peggy Audrilla Evans of Portales, New Mexico; three sons - Collin Homer Butch Lowrey of Clovis, Martin Temple Lowrey and wife Vera of El Cajon, California and Roy Rollie Wicker and wife Jeanie of Clovis; 17 grandchildren - Laura Lowrey Rickman, Milissa Wilkerson, Kimberly Lowrey, Debbie McDaniel, Stephanie Estrada, Kristen Lowrey, Martin Lowrey Jr., Darlene Lenard, Dixie Simpson, Homer Kingston, Bennie Kingston, Albert Evans, Lewis Evans, Amy Wicker, Mark Wicker, Ted Wicker, and Nancy Wicker; 12 great shy;grandchildren and 5 great great grandchildren.
Robbie Lee was preceded in death by her parents; three beloved husbands Homer William Lowrey, Roy Lamond Wicker; and Rollie Byron Wicker; sisters Grace Evans, Bernice Pruit, Bennie Mae McKay and Christine Hardesty; a brother Paul Long; and a grandchild, Roy Patrick Wicker.
Pallbearers will be Zachary Rickman, Jack Nutt, Amber Lee, Stephen Rickman, Chris Adams, and Kasey Rickman. Serving honorably in the service, honorary pallbearers will be PFC Aaron Lee of the US Army, Captain Mark Wicker of the USAF, and Tech Sergeant Ted Wicker of the USAF.
Services will be held at Steed-Todd Chapel, Thursday, September 24, 2009 at 4:00 p.m. with Pastor Doug Brooks officiating. No graveside service to be held. Burial will be at Lawn Haven Memorial Gardens.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Humane Society, Food Bank of Eastern New Mexico or the Senior Citizens Center.
