Robert William Porter passed away on Saturday, March 28, 2009 surrounded by family members. He was born on September 17, 1929 to Cecil and Thelma Porter in the Claud Community in Curry County.

Robert worked many jobs around Clovis and Hereford before finally settling on the family farm located a mile from his birthplace where he spent the last 40 years pursuing his life long passion of ranching. Robert was an avid outdoorsman, often hunting with his family members and friends.

Robert is survived by wife Leota Porter. Daughter Vickie Marchman and husband Jackie Don, son, Rodney Porter and wife Patricia. Grandchildren Rodney R. and wife Paige; Cory and wife Shirley; Jada Bryant and husband Albert; Dayla Hosaka and husband Daniel; Great Grandchildren Dylan, Rachel, Alexandria, Anthony, Kaven, Andrew, Richard and Robin. Devoted Brother Jack Porter, wife Dolly and family

He is preceded in death by his Parents. Son Roger William, Brother R.C. Porter. Sisters Juanita Ray and Wanda Fay Wayland.
