Rosella Pauline Wilson age 79 of Clovis, New Mexico passed away July 3, 2012 at her home in Clovis. Rosella was born January 14, 1933 in Catawissa, Pennsylvania to John and Anna Pleva Servose. She attended and graduated from Catawissa High School on May 22, 1950. After High School Rosella worked for the Selective Service Board in Bloomsburg, Pennsylvania and then began her Civil Service career of 30 years in 1951 in Washington D.C. working for the Navy Dept. In 1952 Rose was nominated by The Navy Dept and was a representative in the Washington D.C. Cherry Blossom Festival Queens Court. On November 1, 1988 Rosella retired at Cannon Air Force Base, receiving numerous awards and accolades including the Superior Performance Award in 1984 working at Cannon Air Force Base with the 27th Combat Support Group. Rosella was known by her Coworkers as the Real DCM Deputy Commander of Maintenance.
Rosella married Don L. Wilson June 27, 1953 in Slab Town, Pennsylvania at Our Lady of Mercy Catholic Church. He preceded her in death June 3, 2011. Rosella and Don had four sons, seven grandchildren, and one great grandchild. In her retirement years she loved gardening, her flowers, crafting and traveling with her husband.
Rosella is survived by her four sons, Don Lee Wilson, Jr. and wife Wanda of Mesa, AZ, Scott Allen Wilson and wife Ellen of Rio Rancho, NM, David Michael Wilson and wife Shori of Highlands Ranch, CO, Michael James Wilson and wife Cathie of Roseville, CA seven grandchildren, Kylee Wilson, Taryn Wilson, Jaimie Blevins, Sarah Wilson, Lari Wilson, Austin Wilson, Tyler Wilson and one great grandchild Audrey Wilson. She is also survived by her sister, Delores Moss.
A Rosary and viewing will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, July 6, 2012 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Clovis, NM. Mass of the Resurrection will follow at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, July 6, 2012 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Clovis, NM with Father Sotero Sena officiating. Cremation will follow services and her cremated remains will be placed with her husband at Lawn Haven Memorial Gardens in Clovis with a private family service.
Memorial contributions may be sent to Plains Regional Cancer Center or Plains Regional Home Health and Hospice both in Clovis.
