Roy Robinson, Jr., was the man who made the following statement by Marion Cran possible for the residents of Country Elegance, "It is always exciting to open the door and go out into the garden for the first time on any day." On Sunday, February 25, 2018, Roy entered the most beautiful garden with his Lord and Savior. He was 82 years old.
Roy Lee Robinson, Jr. was born October 20, 1935 in Albuquerque, NM to Roy Lee Robinson, Sr. and Cordelia Morten Robinson. He attended school in Keen, Texas where he graduated in 1953. He was a member of the Seventh-day Adventist Church.
Roy and his wife Louise were blessed with two daughters; Marie and Betty. Roy was preceded in death by his wife in September of 1998. Roy resided in Lubbock until three years ago when he moved to Stamford, TX. He was employed by ATSF (Santa Fe) Railroad, where he retired as a conductor.
As a young man Roy and his Dad enjoyed fly fishing as a hobby. He also enjoyed feeding birds, camping, gardening, trucks and trains.
Roy was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, 1 daughter Marie Robinson and 1 brother, Charlie Whitmer.
Survivors include; 1 daughter, Betty Pierce and husband Keith of Haskell, TX; 4 grandchildren; Justin Jones and wife Ashleigh, Eric Jones and wife Tiffany Chaney, Davina Gurzchick and husband John and Eddie Mangan. 8 great grandchildren; Walker Jones, Jakob Jones, Emery Chaney, Elise Jones, Benjamin Collins, Bryan Collins, Gabriel Mangan and Mason Mangan.
Visitation will be at Steed Todd Funeral Home on Wednesday, February 28, 2018 from 1:00-5:00 p.m. A Celebration of Roy's Life will be held Thursday, March 1, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. at Steed-Todd Funeral Home in Clovis, NM. Burial will follow in Lawnhaven Memorial Gardens, Clovis, NM.
