Royce Steve Stevens, 75, of Clovis, New Mexico, died Sunday, November 15, 2009, at his home. He was born January 6, 1934 in Glover, Vermont, to Ernest Mildred McDonald Stevens.
He was raised in Greenfield, Massachusetts. He entered the U. S. Air Force in November 1953. He served two tours in the Vietnam War where he was stationed in Thailand. During his duty, he also served at Lowry AFB in Denver, Tachikawa AFB in Korea, Cannon AFB in Clovis, George AFB in Victorville, California, Military School in Orlando, Florida, Formosa, Eglin AFB, Seymour Johnson AFB in North Carolina and McConnell AFB. He retired at Cannon in December 1973.
He married Carol Meurer November 7, 1957, in Slaton, Texas. After retiring from the Air Force he installed carpet for McDaniels from 1973 2001. He loved his family and grandchildren and he loved camping and fishing.
He is survived by his wife Carol Stevens of the home; 2 daughters, Lorraine Fleming Greg of Wolfforth, Texas and Sandra Cook of Idalou, Texas; 1 son, Douglas Stevens Robin of Kingston, New York; 3 brothers, Ernest Stevens, Jr. Lorraine of Arlington, Massachusetts, Eldred Stevens Barbara of Brandon, Vermont and Buddy Stevens Diane of Warner Robbins, Georgia; grandchildren, Jeremy Fleming Susan of Wolfforth, Texas, Keith Fleming Shannon of Lubbock, Texas, Tanner Tyler Cook of Idalou, Texas, Erica, Brittany, Alexandra and Riley Stevens all of Kingston; 2 great grandchildren, Trent Trevor Fleming of Wolfforth, Texas; and numerous aunts, nieces nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, John Stevens.
Services will be at 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, November 18, 2009 at Steed-Todd Chapel with Robert Civil officiating. Burial will follow at Lawn Haven Memorial Gardens with full military honors by the Cannon Air Force Base Honor Guard.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6:00 8:00 p.m. Tuesday, November 17.

Casket bearers will be Tanner Cook, Tyler Cook, Jeremy Fleming, Keith Fleming, Greg Fleming and Dwain Hill. Honorary casket bearers, Tony Barboza, Jack Lapp, Bob Civil and Bruno Schwertner.
