Ruby Christene (Chris) Dudley, beloved mother, grandmother, and treasured friend, passed from this life on August 10, 2024 in Aurora, Co. She was born on March 27, 1943 in Kerens, TX to Ruby Lee Tayor and Jerry Jerome Miller.
As a small child, she moved from Kerens to Clovis, NM, where she grew up, attended school, married and started a family. She worked at a number of jobs during her lifetime, but the majority of her professional career was spent as an RN at Clovis High Plains Hospital, where she worked for more than 30 years prior to her retirement.
The two most important things in Chris's life were her faith and her family. Before moving to Aurora, CO five years ago, Chris was a member of St. John Baptist Church in Clovis. She was also a member of the National Baptist Convention and the Order of the Eastern Star. She attended Living Hope Bible Church in Aurora, Co and served on the Mother's Board.
Chris is survived by a sister, Cherie Miller, Riverside, CA, her six sons, Dereke L. (Sarolyn) Mims, Carrollton, TX, Philip R. (Theresa) Mims, Anderson, SC, Roderick S. (Mary) Mims, Pflugerville, TX, Gary J. (Kori) Mims, Aurora, CO, John K. (Veronica) Lucas, Aurora, CO, Parran D. (Cynthia) Lucas, Vancouver, WA, grandchildren Duane (Ashleigh) Gibson, Dallas, TX, Dereke Mims, Carrollton, TX, Tremaine Thompson, Kerens, TX, Brandon (Michelle) Mims, San Antonio, TX, Gitana Mims, New York City, New York, Ashley Mims, Austin, TX, Cynthia Mims, Pflugerville, TX, Alyse (Joe) Wilson of Asan, South Korea, Samuel Mims, Aurora CO, Spencer Mims,Rancho Cucamonga, CA Ashli Alderman-Mims of Lakewood, CO, Jackson Alderman-Mims of Lakewood, CO, Joyce Martinez, Portales, NM, Alicia (Justin) Lamb, Ft. Cavazos, TX, Devyn Lucas, Aurora, CO, lndie Lucas, Aurora, CO, Ruby Lucas, Aurora, CO, and 16 great grandchildren.
Chris was preceded in death by her husband Leo Dudley, her father Jerry Miller, her mother Ruby Taylor, her brother Perry Hancock and grandsons Roderick Mims and Cameron Mims.
Chris' homegoing celebration will be held at St. John Baptist Church in Clovis, NM at 1:00pm on Saturday, August 24th• Interment will be at the Dallas-Ft. Worth National Cemetery.
