Services for Ruby L. Dunagan age 88 of Clovis will be held on Saturday, March 14, 2009 from 11-3 at the Lighthouse Mission as a gathering of family and friends . She was born Nov. 30, 1920 in Hope, New Mexico to Nathan and Bessie Wood Cox. She passed away on Saturday, February 28, 2009 at Clovis Healthcare and Rehabilitation. She moved to Animas, New Mexico and worked for numerous ranchers. She took over the family homestead and built her own home out of adobe bricks. She married Charles Holmes Dunagan on February 20, 1940 in Carlsbad, New Mexico. They moved to Mississippi and ranched together. They later moved to Clovis in 1956, and ran Imperial Livestock Supply. She also worked for singer sewing machine and owned and operated Dunagan Upholstery for many years before retiring. She was of the Baptist faith and enjoyed playing bingo and dominos.
She is survived by one son Charles Buddy Dunagan and his wife Mary of Clovis; one daughter Mary Hudson of Farmington; 10 grandchildren, 24 great grand children; and 4 great great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her husband, 2 daughters Bessie Wiggins and Betty Ray Mott, 2 sisters Delma Mossier and Dovie McWortel, and 1 brother Joseph Cox.
