Ruby Faris

Ruby M. Faris, 87, of Clovis, died March 29, 2006, at Laurel Ridge Healthcare, in Clovis.brBorn Dec. 8, 1918, in Clovis to Dee Roy and Mae Means Smoot, she grew up in Clovis and graduated from Clovis High School. She worked for the phone company for many years as a telephone operator. She loved oil painting, family members said, and was a member of First Church of the Nazarene in Clovis.brbrShe was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Warner D. Smoot.brShe is survived by two nephews and their wives, Don Smoot and wife, Shirley and Tommy Smoot Cheryl, all of Clovis; a sister-in-law, Mildred Smoot, of Clovis, and several great- and great-great-nieces and great- and great-great-nephews.brbrGraveside services will be Saturday at 10:00 a.m. at Lawn Haven Memorial Gardens with Pastor J.
