Ruby Lee McDaniel, age 94, ended her life on this earth March 16, 2014, at her home in Clovis, N.M.
She was born to Bill and Minnie Glen, February 23, 1920 at their home northwest of St. Vrain, N.M. She and Gaston McDaniel were married on July 26, 1940 in Clovis, N.M. They farmed and ranched in the St. Vrain and Field communities until 1963, when they moved to Clovis.
Lee was a very kind and simple person who loved and cherished times spent with family. She was a homemaker and enjoyed working in her yard and garden, sharing the fruits of her labor and the beauty of nature with others.
She is survived by her daughter, Carolyn DeVaney and a life long friend of the family, Raymon Copeland, four grandchildren, Brenda Barry Allen, Melrose N.M. Sherolyn Larry Castleman, Lubbock TX, Larry Elaine DeVaney, Melrose, N.M. and Lynn Jackson, Beaumont, TX. Twelve great grandchildren and two great great grand children. Also surviving is a host of family and friends.
Preceding her in death were her parents, husband, a daughter, Pauline Jackson, Soninlaw, Dick DeVaney, three sisters, and two brothers.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday March 19, 2014 at 1:00 p.m. at the 16th and Pile Church of Christ in Clovis, N.M. where she had been a member for 51 years. Serving as pallbearers will be her great grandsons and Brady Mimms. Burial will follow at Lawn Haven Cemetery
