Ruby Pate

Ruby Jewell Pate, 81, of Clovis, New Mexico, died November 30, 2008, at Arlington Memorial Hospital in Arlington, Texas. She was born December 23, 1926 in Hollow Tree, Alabama and was the fifth sibling of seven and preceded all in death but one.

She married Cecil Pate in 1944 and she moved from Hale Center, Texas, to Milnesand, New Mexico, where they started ranching and operating a dairy. Of this union one daughter, Lennie Dosher, was born. She was a very humble and gracious lady. She was a homemaker and ranchers wife which entailed wearing many different hats. She was very talented and crafty and made many beautiful ceramics which people still display in their homes proudly.

She is survived by her daughter, Lennie Dosher Mike of Pleasant Hill, New Mexico; 2 grandchildren, Gina Matherly Mark of Keller, Texas and Jeff Wall of Grand Prairie, Texas; 4 great grandchildren, Bradley Matherly, Jessica Wall, Kayla Wall and Shelby Wall and 1 sister, Yvonne Adkins Max of Georgetown, Texas. She was preceded in death by her husband in March 14, 2000.

Services will be at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, December 3, 2008 at Steed-Todd Chapel in Clovis with Pastor Alan McAlister officiating. Burial will follow at Melrose Cemetery, Melrose, New Mexico.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 8:00 p.m. Tuesday, December 2, 2008 at the funeral home.
