Ruel Pickard

Ruel was born June 23, 1942 in Layfetta, Georgia to John Earl and Bessie Beatrice Pickard. He lived in Georgia until he was about 10 when his Dad loaded them up and moved them all the way to the Texas and New Mexico area. He was a farm hand most of his life and was proud to tell people he used to farm the entire area where the college is now.

He is preceded in death by both parents, seven brothers: his twin Randell, Gene, Wayne, Sidney, Noel, Donnie, and Levon; and one sister, Earlene Campbell.

He is survived by two sisters: Wanda Burgess of Clovis, NM, and Brenda Hulman (Dave) of OnAlaska, WI; one son, Ruel Jr. (Terri) of Clovis, and two grandchildren: Lukas Pickard (Chelsie) of Ruidoso, and Sherolyn Jones (Mike) of Clinton, TN; and many nieces and nephews.

Visitation will begin at 2:00PM at Steed Todd Funeral Home on Saturday, February 8th. Services will be held on Saturday, February 8th, at 3:00PM in the Steed-Todd Funeral Home Chapel.
