Russell Whitehead (Rusty), 49, of Highpoint, North Carolina has passed away on April 22, 2017 in Clovis, New Mexico.

Funeral service will be held at 1:00pm May 6, 2017 at Steed Todds Funeral Home with Wayne Boydstun officiating. Burial will follow at Lawn Haven Memorial Garden.

Russell Whitehead was born in Highpoint, North Carolina to Graylon Lee Whitehead and Gladys Garnett Bledsoe on May 9, 1968.

Russell Whitehead married Lisa Gallegos on January 3, 1994 in Farwell, Texas; they were married for 23 years but have been together for 27 years. Russell was talented in many technical areas and had diverse work experiences. He was a veterans of the United States Airforce and Army. His last employment was at the Southwest Cheese factory, which he worked for eight years. He enjoyed reading, collecting, and spending time with his dogs.

Russell Whitehead is survived by Lisa Whitehead (wife); Briana Gallegos, Jade Gallegos, Stormy Whitehead, and Megan Rappleyea (daughters); Aurora Saiz, Emery Rappleyea, and Nigel Rappleyea (grandchildren); Judy Whitehead Campbell, Rebecca Whitehead Crawford, Gloria Whitehead Fritchman, Glenda Whitehead, and Linda Whitehead Carley (sisters).

Russell Whitehead is preceded in death by Graydon Whitehead (father), Gladys Bledsoe (mother), and Royal Early Whitehead (brother).

Pallbearers will be Earl Bibbs, Arthur Gallegos, Arthur Jr. Gallegos, Jonah Barela, Benton Reynolds, and Roman Peralez.
