Ruth Brittain

Mrs. Ruth Wesley Brittain, 86, of Melrose, died Friday, January 20, 2006, at Laurel Plains Healthcare. She was born May 20, 1919, in Quay County, to Welsey A. and Effie Good Stockton. She was a lifelong resident of the Forrest and Melrose communities. She was the city clerk of Melrose for many years. She was a member of First United Methodist Church in Melrose.brbrFamily members said she enjoyed painting, fishing and sewing.br brShe is preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Randall William Brittain; and two sisters, Amy McDonald and Vivian Ewing.brbrShe is survived by three sons, Gary Brittian and wife, Karen of Lockeford, California, Dan Brittain Karen of Tierra Amarilla, and Jimmie Brittain Jessie of Las Vegas, Nevada; a daughter, Randa Floyd Bradley of Melrose; eight grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.brbrCremation will take place. Services will be held Tuesday, January 24, 2006 at 2:00 p.m. at First United Methodist Church in Melrose; The Rev. Danny Sanders will officiate.brbrArrangements are by Steed-Todd Funeral Home.br
