Sharlene Lynch

December 24, 1935 — April 26, 2015

Sharlene Lynch, age 79, passed away peacefully at her home the morning of April 26, 2015 in Clovis, New Mexico.

Memorial services will be held at 3:00 p.m. Saturday, May 2nd at First United Methodist Church with Reverend Jeb Archey. Please join us between 12:30 p.m. - 2:30 p.m. to celebrate Sharlene's life at her home with family and friends.

Sharlene was born in Portales, New Mexico to Vernie and Pauline "Peggy" Wagner on December 24, 1935. She attended school in Sudan, Texas. She married Lyndell "Lynn" Lynch on May 24, 1953 in Sudan, Texas. Sharlene and Lynn owned "Lynn's Grocery Store" in Sudan, Texas for many years prior to moving to Clovis, New Mexico. While their children were in High School, Sharlene and Lynn were active members and supporters of the Clovis Wildcat Band Boosters and Sharlene worked as a teacher's aide at Parkview Elementary. During the late 1980's through the 1990's they were the owners of a local frame shop, Frame & Art Gallery. Sharlene was an avid cross stitcher and crocheter and made blankets for the local cancer center, area nursing homes, and the Baptist Children's Home in Portales, New Mexico. Sharlene was an active member of First United Methodist Church and the Circle 5 Women's Group and a committed supporter of the Lighthouse Mission.

While Sharlene was involved in many activities throughout her lifetime, her true passion was her family. Her love of God and unwavering expression of unconditional love served as a beautiful example and her legacy will live on through those who knew her.

Sharlene was preceded in death by her husband, Lynn Lynch, and her parents, Vernie and Peggy Wagner.

Sharlene is survived by children Lynda (Phil) Stevens, Tammy Lynch, Tom Lynch, grandchildren Jamie (Justin) Schilling, Greg Stevens, Lacee (Matthew) Surina, Garric Lynch, Jarrid Lynch, Great-grandchildren Alexa Higbee, Kaela Higbee, Talan Schilling and Ellen Surina; also her very close friend, Cathy Reed, whom she considered to be a daughter of her own.

Should friends desire, flowers are welcome and contributions may be made to the Lighthouse Mission or the American Cancer Society.

Arrangements are under the care and direction of Steed-Todd Funeral Home and Crematory, 800 E Manana Blvd, Clovis, New Mexico (575) 763-5541.
