Shelly Benoist, age 48, of Clovis, New Mexico and formerly of Tucson, Arizona passed away on December 14, 2012 at Plains Regional Medical Center in Clovis, New Mexico.

She was born on February 1, 1964 in Ft. Sumner, New Mexico to Stephen and Amy Sinclair Ratliff. She was raised on Ft. Sumner and was the Valedictorian of her high school class. She attended Eastern New Mexico University and graduated with a bachelors degree in accounting. She married Tim Benoist on August 21, 1981 in Clovis. They moved to Tucson, Arizona and lived there for twentyfive years. Shelly worked for the IRS for thirteen years and then went into business for herself in accounting. Shelly and Tim returned to Clovis to live for the last year and few months. Shelly loved her husband, her family and her dogs.

She is survived by her husband, Tim Benoist of Clovis, NM sister, Debbie Ratliff of Clovis, NM brother, Gary Ratliff Becki of Lubbock, TX nephews, Jack and Milo Ratliff, both of Lubbock, TX, Father Stephen Ratliff Patty of Montrose, CO and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Amy Ratliff and her grandparents.

Services will be at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, December 19, 2012 in the SteedTodd Chapel.

Burial will take place at Fort Sumner, New Mexico at a later date.
