Shirley Frances Bailey Owens, 77, of Clovis, passed away on August 17, 2016 at Covenant Medical Center in Lubbock, Texas.
Visitation will be 5 o'clock to 7 o'clock Friday, August 19th at Steed-Todd Funeral Home in Clovis.
Funeral services will be held 11:00 Saturday morning at Sandia Baptist Church with Kelly Hartz, officiating. Burial will follow at Lawn Haven Memorial Gardens. Steed-Todd Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
Shirley was born September 18, 1938 in Newkirk to John Claiborne and Hattie Bailey. She was a graduate of Fort Sumner High School. She married Dale Franklin Owens on June 12, 1959 in Fort Sumner. A beloved wife and mother, Shirley loved her family unconditionally and worked and ministered as church secretary for Sandia Baptist Church for 34 years.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Dale, her parents, and two brothers, Roy Roland Bailey and Harvey Bailey. Survivors include one son, Greg Owens, of Clovis, and three daughters, Dayla Reeser (Bryan) of Clovis, Sandy Mote of Merrimack, N.H., and Kim Fearing (Erik) of Water Valley, Miss. She leaves behind two brothers, J.C. Bailey, Jr. (Jeynean) of Fort Sumner and Ted Bailey (Marcella) of Alamogordo and two sisters, Georgia Kelly (Joe) of Lubbock and Marie Fox (Ronnie) of Portales. She will also be missed by her six grandchildren and her many nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be Robert Mote, Caleb Fearing, Garren Bass, Erik Fearing, Bryan Reeser, and Bryan Norris.
Katie Mote, Amanda Bass, and Asheton Fearing are Honorary Pallbearers.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Sandia Baptist Church.
