Susan Mote

Susan C. Mote, 66, formerly of Clovis, New Mexico, passed away on Friday, the 19th of May, in the comfort of her home in Pagosa Springs, Colorado.

Susan was born to R. L. and Pearl Wagley Journagan of Forrest, NM on October 13, 1950, and earned an ADN from Eastern New Mexico University in 1990.

Susan's patient and caring personality was shown through her work as a teacher's aide, and this was strengthened through nearly two decades of work as a registered nurse. She enjoyed leisurely activities such as latch-hook, reading real crime and mystery stories, spending time with friends and family, and surrounding herself with all-things zebra. Susan also enjoyed watching wildlife, and she was happiest when in the mountains. As a loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, Susan touched the lives of her family in countless ways.

Susan is survived by her children Elizabeth (Peter) Slusar, Amanda Long, and her eldest daughter and loving caretaker, Tisha Mote. Additional survivors include her mother, Pearl Wagley Journagan, siblings Lynda (Calvin) White, Nancy (Robert) Houston, and Bruce Journagan, as well as numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Susan was preceded in death by her father, R.L. Journagan, and one great-grandchild, Blayn James Andrew Franklin.

A Funeral Service will be 2:00pm, Thursday May 25, 2017, at Steed Todd Chapel in Clovis, NM. Burial will follow at Plains Cemeteryin Plains, NM.
