Sylvia Vigil

Sylvia M. Vigil, 82, of Clovis, NM, died at her home, Friday, March 25, 2011. Rosary wil be held at 7:00 p.m. on Sunday, March 27, 2011 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Mass of the Resurrection will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, March 28, 2011 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church with Deacon Daniel Chavez, officiating. Burial will follow at Mission Garden of Memories. Pall Bearers will be Vicente Vigil, Joshua Montoya, Richard Esquibel, Henry Armijo, Damian Sena, Raul Gandarilla, Michael Gonzales, and Alfred Rubio.

Sylvia was born October 14, 1928 to Casiano and Vicenta Martinez in Anton Chico, New Mexico. Sylvia was a very special woman, mother, and grandmother to all her family. We will remember how she was always there to listen and give advice and full of love and laughter. She enjoyed reciting her spiritual bible everyday, fixing her puzzles, crocheting, and watching Tiger Woods golfing on t.v..

She is survived by her life long companion Jose C. Lujan, granddaughter Angel Jr. Montoya three daughters, Grace Jose Gandarilla of El Paso, TX, Julia Henry Armijo of Thackerville, OK, and Louisa Reynaldo Jr. Armijo of Clovis, NM three brothers, Benito Della Martinez of Temple, TX, Casey Edwina Martinez of Borger, TX, Pete Aneda Martinez of Los Lunas, NM one sister Mary Abel deceased Esquibel of Clovis, NM fourteen grandchildren, thirtyfour great grandchildren, fourteen great great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her late husband Guadalupe Vigil her parents, Casiano and Vicenta Martinez her two sons, Simon Vigil and Herbert Vigil and one aunt, Petronila Marquez.
