Tara Mckenna

Tara Laurelle McKenna (Williams)-Cherished daughter of the (Late) Johnny Pat and Lisa Williams, and devoted mother of Jonny Ray Gavin, Corey Shawn Jr. and Parker McKenna (deceased, but never forgotten) has returned home to our Heavenly Father, hand in hand with her Beloved husband and Eternal Soulmate, Corey Shaun McKenna, Sr. on March 10, 2018 in Clovis, NM.
Born September 21, 1985, Tara was raised in Clovis, and was a member of Central Christian Church where she accepted Jesus Christ as her savior, and attended regularly with her Mimi, Sandra Cast. Tara also attended school in Clovis and was an active member in many scholastic programs/organizations including E.L.P., O.M., N.H.S. and Who's Who among American High School Students. After graduating Clovis High School in 2004, Tara attended NMSU in Las Cruces before returning to back Clovis, where she would reconnect with her true love and begin their precious family.
Tara was as beautiful each day of her life as she was the day she was born. Always there for her family, willing to help in any way. Full of compassion and humor. Standing strong in her beliefs and values, values that would only be strengthened by the bond she would nurture with Corey at her side.
They had a love that surpasses life. If we had to lose either one of them, it was fitting they went together.
In the words of the two beautiful sons that Tara and Corey will now guide from heaven, "they were the most loving and best parents ever." We will miss Tara and Corey desperately, and are forever blessed to have shared their time on this earth. Knowing we will see them again......will give us strength and allow our hearts to heal.
Tara is preceded in death by her husband, Corey Shaun McKenna; father, Johnny Pat Williams; son Parker McKenna; paternal grandfathers, Harold Ray Cast (Papa) and Pat Williams; maternal great-grandparents, R.B. and Pauline Chappell, Ollene Cast; paternal great-grandparents, Joe and Johnnie Jarell; and aunt, Vickie Williams.
Tara is survived by her sons, Johnny Ray Gavin McKenna and Corey Shawn McKenna, Jr.; mother Lisa A. Williams; grandmothers, Sandra Cast and Norma Jean Hovde; brothers, Colton J. Capps and Austin R. Cole; aunt, Lori Lacy; uncle, Jarrell Williams; and cousin, Jason Williams.
A Celebration of Life Service for Tara and Corey will be held on Saturday, March 24, 2018, 2:00pm at Steed Todd Funeral Chapel.
