T.B. "Bud" Spears, 75, of Texico, passed away on August 30, 2015, in Texico, NM.
Funeral services will be at 2 pm mst on Friday September 4, 2015 at Steed Todd Funeral Home Chapel in Clovis, NM. Bryan Kube will officiate at the services. Burial will follow at Texico, NM Cemetery.
He was born in Clovis to LJ and Marie Spears on August 1,1940. He graduated from Texico High school in 1958. Bud started going on harvest with Spears Harvesting in 1951 with his family as a combine operator. He worked for Gifford Hill Western and Westbrook Trucking as a truck driver in his early years. From the early 70's on, he ran his own
truck hauling cattle.
Bud is preceded in death by his parents; and two brothers, Lee Roy and Joe.
Surviving are 2 sons, Mac and wife Shelly, and Sam; a brother, Bob; a sister, Betty Jane and husband JR Broadhurst; a grandson, Luke; a granddaughter, MacAyla; Kathy Spears mother of his 2 sons; two step-daughters Day and husband Dave Craker; and Angie Gault; 2 step-grandsons, Sean and wife Kaitlin Gault and Jeremy Dupree; step-granddaughter Justine and husband Ronnie Lewis; Landon Lewis, step-great-grandson; and multiple nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be Julian Guillen, Kim Howard, Buddy "Speedy" Spence, Jerry "Slo" Fulgham, Kent "Pecos" Gast and Albert Baumgartner.
Honorary pallbearers are Luke Spears, Sean Gault, Landon Lewis, Jeremy Dupree and all his trucking buddies.
Memorials may be given to a charity of your choice.
The family wishes to extend its sincere thanks to Texico Volunteer Ambulance Service, Gentiva Hospice, AeroCare, the nurses at Clovis Hospital and the SICU nurses at Covenant Hospital in Lubbock, Wendy Edwards and Steed Todd Funeral Home.
