Teresita Mirelez Valdez, 58 of Clovis N.M. passed away on Saturday November 14, 2015 in Lubbock Texas.
Teresita was born February 8,1957 in Halecenter Texas to Benito and Lydia Mirelez of Abernathy, Texas. She graduated from Abernathy High in 1979. Teresita soon met Santos Valdez and they married on January 27,1982 in Clovis N.M. where they made a permanent life together.
She is preceded in death by her parents Benito and Lydia Mirelez; brother, Lupe Mirelez; sister, Mary Ester Mirelez; husband, Santos Valdez;and grandson, Christopher Valdez.
Teresita M. Valdez is survived by her four sons; Jesus M. Mirelez of Clovis NM; Martin Valdez of Lovington NM; Abel Valdez and Benito Valdez also of Clovis NM; grandson Gustavo "Daddy" Valdez of Clovis NM who is known as grandmas pride and joy. Teresita also leaves to cherish her loving memory; three sisters, Sylvia Ramirez of Lubbock TX; Anita Moreno of Falls City, Nebraska; Nancy Olguin of Abernathy TX; two brothers; Benito Mirelez of Houston TX; Gilbert Mirelez of Amarillo TX along with seven nieces and five nephews.
Teresita was very well known as a loving caring person and leaves memories for so many people to cherish throughout their lives. She was a devoted mother,grandmother and friend. Recognized for her beautiful smile and being very social her words brought encouragement to those who she heard out in times of need, joy to those that were down on their hopes, laughter was a constant way of filling her surroundings with light and love that made anywhere feel peaceful. "To know her was to love her." Teresita lived most of her life working hard as a C.N.A. for the elderly, and also a manager for several resteraunts. She enjoyed dancing, sewing, reading the bible, constantly cooking, but most of all spending time with her sons, and grandson.
Pallbearers will be Angel Garcia and Josh Martinez both of Lubbock TX; Ted Twite, Travis Griego, Victor Terrones of Clovis NM; and son Martin Valdez of Lovington NM. Honorary pallbearers are Gustavo Angel Valdez, Ruben Olguin, Gilbert Valdiviezo, and Daniel Lopez.
Funeral services will be held at 2pm, at Steed-Todd Funeral Home Chapel on Friday November 20, 2015 with brother Allen Urioste officiating. Burial wil follow at lawn haven cemetary in Clovis. Arrangements are under the direction of Steed-Todd Funeral Home.
