Thelma Laura Venable, 79, of Texico, New Mexico, died Monday, December 31, 2007 at Farwell Convalescent Center in Farwell, Texas. She was born March 24, 1928 to John and Bessie OHaver Morris.
She had been a resident of Texico since 1961, moving to Texico from Plains, Texas. She married Melvin Venable October 22, 1970 in Texico. She was a homemaker and loved to make quilts. She was a member of 16th Pile Church of Christ in Clovis, New Mexico.
She is survived by her husband of the home in Texico; 1 daughter, Brenda Sims of Midwest City, Oklahoma; 1 son, Allen Hall Sandra of Blanco, Texas; 1 grandson, Douglas Sims of Pleasonton, Texas; 1 granddaughter, Ashley Hall of Blanco; 1 sister, Irene Johns of Borger, Texas and 1 brother, Clay Morris of Farmington, New Mexico. She was preceded in death by her parents; 1 brother, J. O. Morris and 1 son, Gary Sims.
Services will be at 10:00 a.m. Friday, January 4, 2008 at 16th Pile Church of Christ with Jim Gammon officiating. Burial will follow at Sunset Terrace Memorial Cemetery in Farwell. Casket bearers will be Steve Smith, Melburn Johnston, Jay Swartz, Bob Norris, Curtis Tabor and Bob Bennett.
