Thomas December, Jr.

Thomas Jerome December, Jr., age 77, of Lubbock, TX passed away on June 8, 2014 at Covenant Medical Center in Lubbock, TX.

Thomas was born on November 18, 1936 in Marquette, MI to Thomas Jerome and Dorothy May De Rusha December. He served in the United States Army in Germany as an Engineer. He was a member of the DAV. After his service in the Army, he worked for General Motors. He was also a Plant Operator for St. Marys Hospital, now known as Covenant Medical Center in Lubbock, TX. He was married to Jonnye Foster on August 19, 1982 in Lubbock, TX. Thomas enjoyed working on his yard and building with wood and metal. He enjoyed cars. He loved his two dogs Missy and Rascal and his two cats Whetto and Oxide.

Thomas is survived by his wife, Jonnye December of Lubbock, TX daughter Terry Lynn Rappley of Flint, MI daughter Penny Sue December of Michigan son Michael December of Michigan daughter Kim and Terry Berry of Greenville, SC son Jock Shane December of Utah brother Louis and Mary Lou Winters of Marquette, MI brother in law Artie and Marilyn Foster of Huntington Beach, CA stepchildren Paula Putman Fred Castillo of Levelland, TX and Dennis and Mary Wyatt of Lubbock, TX sixteen grandchildren and numerous great grandchildren.

He is preceded in death by his parents.

Funeral services are at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, June 12, 2014 at SteedTodd Funeral Home Chapel in Clovis, NM. Burial will follow at Lawn Haven Memorial Gardens in Clovis. Casket bearers are Eddie Herrington, Dennis Wyatt, Allen Putman, Allen Putman, Jr., Eric Wyatt and Bryan Putman. Honorary casket bearers are Charlie Gunnels, Tommy Lofton, Pat Woods, Charles B. Stockton, Artie Foster and Fred Castillo.
