Tom Mccuan

Tom Paul McCuan, 93, Farwell, Texas, died Monday, September 27, 2010, at Farwell Convalescent Center. She was born September 6, 1917, in Gouldbusk, Coleman County, Texas to Edward Martin Mary Jane Briscoe Davis.

She graduated from Littlefield High School in Littlefield, Texas. She married John Dale McCuan in 1938. She owned, operated and worked in beauty shops for over 40 years. She loved to attend the Cosmetology Convention. She was active in First Baptist Church in Farwell where she was a member.

She started painting after her husband passed away. She loved to visit with friends and relatives. She really enjoyed traveling overseas and living with her sons in foreign countries. She also enjoyed living in the U. S. where her youngest son lived and worked.

She is survived by 4 sons, John Gordon Winnie McCuan of Berryville, Virginia, Jerry Dale Wanda McCuan of Ralls, Texas, David Bruce Chris McCuan of Valley Stream, New York and Barry Franklin Lynne Windsor McCuan of Santa Fe, New Mexico 9 grandchildren and several great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents her husband 3 brothers, Troy Orval, Roy Oliver and Luther Edward who died as a young child and 4 sisters, Winnie Jane Hogan, Minnie Isabelle Matthews, Vera Mae Porter and Bobbie Faye Mitchell.

Services will be held at 10:00 a.m. CST Saturday, October 2, 2010, at First Baptist Church in Farwell with Dale Cain officiating. Burial will follow at Sunset Terrace Memorial Cemetery.

Casket bearers will be her son and friends. Honorary casket bearers will be her church family and the Farwell Community, which she loved.
