Tommy Ray Barnes, 70, of Clovis, New Mexico passed away peacefully on February 7th, 2024.
Tommy was born on January 3rd, 1954 to Clyde and Ruth Barnes. In his younger years, he spent summers with his family at Ft Sumner Lake, boating and fishing with his brother having all sorts of fun. He also enjoyed dove hunting. He graduated from Clovis High School in 1972 and became a very talented and gifted master carpenter, working hard most of his life. In his free time, he loved to ride his Harley Davidson Motorcycle playing music and go arrowhead hunting. He was a brilliant guitar player and could carry a tune. At Tommy's home, he always proudly displayed an American Flag. He was a very intelligent man who loved to read, and he was a good friend to many. He always had a story or joke to tell.
Tommy is survived and missed by his wife, Verna Barnes, his older brother Dale Barnes, daughter Savannah Barnes, bonus daughter Rakel Banister; grandchildren, Hanna, his "pride and joy"; Cade; Adelyn; and Kaylee. Tommy loved his grandchildren and they loved and adored him.
Tommy was preceded in death by his parents Clyde and Ruth Barnes; his grandparents C.E. and Bessie Barnes.
The family would like to thank Brandon Reid for his friendship throughout the years. Tommy was one of a kind.
Respectfully, Tommy did not want any services. If you wish to visit him and pay your respects, you can visit him at Lawn Haven memorial Gardens on 1601 E. Llano Estacado and honor him proudly by displaying an American Flag.
