Tommy Gonzales

Tommy also known as Tomas, Tom and Pops Gonzales, age 64, died at his Clovis residence on October 24, 2011. He had recently returned to Clovis from his home in Palm Coast, FL to be closer to extended family. Tommy was born on May 11, 1947 in Fort Sumner, NM to Esmael and Lita Gonzales. Tommy was a retired contractor having owned and operated a framing business in Palm Coast, FL. Prior to that he worked various construction jobs and was employed at Cannon Air Force Base in the building trades. He was also a Navy veteran who served his country during the Vietnam Conflict. He served on the USS Coral Sea which was attached to Fighter Squadron One Five One. Tommy was a hardworking, fun loving, generous person who was always willing to lend a helping hand to others. He was a protective father and grandfather. He loved and enjoyed his grandchildren and he spent as much time as he could with them. Tommy also loved his pets and constant companions poodles Bandit and Gidget.

He is survived by his wife Eulalia Lala Gonzales also from Clovis, NM and Palm Coast, FL a daughter, Bernice Matthew Blanton of Clovis, NM and a son, Dino Jennifer Gonzales of Palm Coast, FL. Other survivors include: six grandchildren, Lisa Blanton of Hobbs, NM, Timothy Gonzales Melissa of Palm Coast, FL, Corey Carlson Mackenzie of Palm Coast, FL, Justine Blanton of Clovis, NM, Adam Gonzales of Palm Coast, FL, and Hayden Blanton of Clovis, NM three great grandchildren, Anthony Santos, Melohdi Carlson and Jayce Gonzales and three sisters, Julia Gonzales of Clovis, NM, Mary Hernandez of Clovis, NM and Rosella Gonzales Marijo Baca of Rio Rancho, NM and a large extended family.

Tommy was preceded in death by his father, Esmael Gonzales, mother, Lita Madrid Gonzales, and brother, Tony Gonzales.

At Tommys request there will not be a memorial service. Memorial contributions in Tommys memory may be made to the Fort Sumner Cemetery Association, PO Box 180, Fort Sumner, NM 88119.
