Services for Troy Lynn Lovett, age 89, of Pleasant Hill, New Mexico are scheduled for Monday, November 9, 2009, at 10:00 a.m. at the Pleasant Hill Baptist Church with Jim Peabody and Gene Hawkins officiating. Burial will follow at Lawn Haven Memorial Gardens. Pallbearers will be Lynn Holdeman, Archie Holdeman, Kyle Holdeman, Gerald Dan Whitener, Ricky Armstrong and Randy Cain. Honorary pallbearers will be T. Charles Verner, Daron K. Rose, Jackie Dane, Don Teague, Jessie Cantu and Coy Bombarger.
Troy was born September 18, 1920, in Pleasant Hill to Franklin E. and Sudie McGee Lovett. He passed away November 4, 2009, at Retirement Ranch in Clovis, New Mexico. He was a lifelong resident of Pleasant Hill. He played basketball in high school and graduated in 1939. He met the love of his life, Elizabeth Nell Bain, on the basketball court and they married March 24, 1940 in Ranchvale, New Mexico at her parents home. He was a rancher and farmer. He was on the Board of Production Credit Association, which is now Ag New Mexico, for 38 years and served as chairman multiple times. He was a lifelong member of Pleasant Hill Baptist Church where he was also a deacon. He was also a member of Farm Bureau and the Democrat Party of Curry County.
He is survived by 2 daughters, Gwinette Rose and husband Allen of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma and Lynell Verner and her husband Tommy of Kingman, Arizona; 1 sister, Maurine Winkles and her husband Lowry of Clovis; 1 sister-in-law, Joyce Lovett of Clovis; Grandsons, T. Charles and Julie Verner of Amarillo, Texas and Daron and Sarah Rose of Oklahoma City; Granddaughters, Cizon and Chris Sauceda of Las Vegas, Nevada, Michelle and Armando Jimenez of Kingman and Lynnee Rose of Oklahoma City; Great Grandsons, Phillip and Jessica Verner of Ft. Stewart, Georgia, Andrew Sauceda of Las Vegas, David Jimenez of Kingman; Great Granddaughters, Gabrielle Sauceda of Las Vegas, Tessa Verner and Emilee Verner both of Amarillo, Texas and Victoria Jimenez of Kingman; Twin Great Great Grandbabies, Lucas Lillian Verner of Ft. Stewart and a Great Grandchild on the way to be born to Daron and Sarah Rose.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Nell Lovett in 2008 and 1 daughter, Judy Evelyn Lovett in 1962.
