Troy Paul Newcomb, 68 years 6 months and 10 days, of Clovis, New Mexico went to be with our Lord on Friday, August 29, 2008, at his home in Clovis. He was born February 19, 1940, in Durant, Oklahoma, to W. J. Bertha Mae Haney Newcomb.
He married the love of his life, Doris Jenkins, June 15, 1964 and they shared 44 wonderful years together. Together they have 8 children, 31 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren. Papa and Nana are the light of their grandbabies lives. Daddy loved to be outside. It didnt matter to him what the weather was, he loved to fish and go camping with his family. He was the person who never met a stranger, always lending a helping hand to a person in need. He owned many businesses in his life here in Clovis, his favorite was the flea market he opened last year, simply because of all the people he got to meet and know there. He would greet everyone with a smile
He was preceded in death by his parents; 2 sisters, Betty Melton and Kay Harper and one son Wade Newcomb; his father and mother-in-law, J. C. and Lena Bell Jenkins; a brother-in-law, Fred Smith, who he loved like a brother and numerous nieces and nephews.
He is survived by his wife Doris Newcomb of the home in Clovis; his daughters, Becky Pierson, Anna Balch Mike and Sherry Hamner Fred all of Clovis, New Mexico, Dianna Baquera Joe, Caroylyn Acosta both of Sterling, Colorado and Pam of Rising Star, Texas; one son, Troy Wayne Newcomb Terri of Yankton, South Dakota and one brother, Bill Newcomb Anita of Midland, Texas; 31 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.
Daddy, nothing will ever be the same here withouth you. Ask God to save a place for all of us.
A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, September 3, 2008 at Church of the Brethren with Pastor James Kelly officiating. After the service the family will gather at 1804 Wallace.
