Troy Strange

Funeral Services are scheduled for 2:00 p.m., Thursday, June 5, 2008, at the First Church of the Nazarene for Troy Dean Strange, age 64, of Clovis, NM who passed away Monday, June 2, 2008 at his home. Pastor Darwin Speicher will officiate. Burial will follow at Lawn Haven Memorial Gardens.

Dean was born June 12, 1943, in Littlefield, TX to Charles and Effie Strange. He married Betty Elaine Spriggs on July 18, 1966 in Lazbuddie, TX.

Survivors include his wife of 41 years, Betty, a son, Jerrod Strange and his wife Susan of Portales, NM; a granddaughter, June Strange of Las Cruces, NM; a sister, Sue Alsup and husband Jack of Roswell, NM; a brother, David Strange and wife Betty of Grand Island, FL; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Dean was preceded in death by his parents; the sister and brother-in-law who raised him after his parents deaths, Imogene ONeal Hamill and Bill ONeal; sisters, Geneva Strange, Bonnie Estep and Wanda Chaney; and a brother Wade Strange.

Dean graduated from Roswell High School in 1961. He worked in construction in Roswell for a couple of years before going to work for Tide ProductsWilbur-Ellis in Farwell, TX. He retired from Wilbur-Ellis in 1998 after 35 years. His family was his life and he loved them dearly. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and camping, especially with the Boy Scouts when his son was young. He was a member of the 1st Church of the Nazarene.

Pallbearers will be Wayne Pierson, Bob Bowden, Walter Hughes, Tim Cooper, Jimmy Douglass, Randy Cain, Gene Wicks, and Richard Franks. Honorary pallbearers are Steve Pierson and all Deans co-workers from Wilbur-Ellis.
