Services for Tyler Jacob Fontenot age 17 of Clovis, New Mexico will be held Friday, June 6, 2008 at Central Baptist Church in Clovis, New Mexico at 3:00 p.m. MST with Rev. Brad Reeves and Pastor Wally Yeager officiating. Burial will follow at Oklahoma Lane Cemetery in Oklahoma Lane, Texas. Pallbearers will be Travis Reid, Coach Cal Fullerton, Charlie Maciel, Josh Hurley, Gabe Apodaca, Doug Everhardt, Coach Scott Robinson, Coach Eric Roanhaus, and Brian Stacy. Honorary Pallbearers will be the Clovis High School Golf team, the New Mexico Statewide Golf team, Jon F. Coll, Raymond Williams, Anthony Joplan, Dr Jon Shrader, Dr Jake Moberly, Marion Ty Rutter, Hank Baskett, III.
Tyler was born December 27, 1990 in Albuquerque, New Mexico to Joel and Robyn Summers Fontenot. He passed away Monday, June 2, 2008 at Lake Brownwood, Texas. Tyler was a student and had just finished his junior year at Clovis High School. He aspired to become a professional golfer. He was a four year varsity golfer at CHS where he received two time all-district, two time all-state, two time district champion, all district academic, received the Collie Rogers award in 2007, nominated for Congressional Leadership Conference, member of DECA, National Honor Society, and member of Whos Who Among High School Students. He was an active member of Kingswood United Methodist Church in Clovis.
He is survived by his mother Robyn Fontenot and companion Jerry Hodge of Clovis, New Mexico; his father Joel and wife Nancy Fontenot of Taos, New Mexico; half sister Tammy Trujillo of Taos, New Mexico; half brother Chris Trujillo, of Albuquerque, New Mexico; Grandmother Marjorie Summers of Clovis, New Mexico; Grandparents Ronald C. and Mae Fontenot of Baton Rouge, Louisiana; Aunts Laurie Haseloff of Farwell, Texas; Cinda and Jim Fusilier of Opelousas, Louisiana; Debbie and Bob Skorupsky of New Brunswick, New Jersey; Roxanne and Jim Stears of Washington, Louisiana; uncle Peter and Cindy Fontenot of Baton Rouge, Louisiana. He is preceded in death by his Grandfather Terry D. Summers and his Uncle Joe Haseloff.
