Velma Norris

Velma Louise Norris, 70, of Clovis, New Mexico, died Thursday, April 29, 2010, at Plains Regional Medical Center. She was born June 11, 1939 in Littlefield, Texas to Leslie Edmond and L. G. Anderson Sinclair.

She married Thomas Stephen Norris February 6, 1959 in Clovis. She was a longtime resident of Clovis and worked for the Clovis Municipal Schools for many years, retiring in 1998. She spent most of her time at Marshall Junior High. Many children considered her their grandmother. She was a member of Circle Five and the Womens Bible Class at First United Methodist Church where she was a member.

She is survived by 2 sons, Mike Norris of the home and Allen Norris Lisa of Socorro, New Mexico 1 daughter, Karen Shone Don of Bastrop, Texas 6 grandchildren, Amy Shone Jordan, Sarah Norris, Quinten Norris, Gabrielle Norris, Madison Shone and Maitlyn Marshall 3 great grandchildren, Lacy, Megan and Ricky Jordan 1 brother, Ken Sinclair Jan of Amarillo, Texas brotherinlaws, Bob Norris Barbara and Curtis Norris Darla all of Clovis and sisterinlaw, Phyllis Dorough Jerry of Albuquerque, New Mexico.

She was preceded in death by her parents her husband brother, David and sister, Amy Ratliff.

Services will be at 10:00 a.m. Monday, May 3, 2010, at First United Methodist Church with Rev. Harry Riser officiating. Inurnment will follow at Lawn Haven Memorial Gardens.

Honorary casket bearers will be her grandchildren.
