Vida Grace Sapier
1921-2007
Vida Grace Sapier, age 86, a former resident of Clovis, passed away Friday, August 17, peacefully at her daughter Candys home in Belen where according to her wishes she lived her last days.
She was very proud of being a native New Mexican being born in Grenville, New Mexico on April 29, 1921.
She was preceded in death by her husband, George J. Sapier, retired USAF.
She is survived by her daughters and their families, Candy Sapier , grandchildren Nicole Zabicki, Tim Zabicki, his wife Lauren L. Zabicki and great grand daughter Meadow Zabicki, grand daughter Lauren R. Zabicki and fianc Marc Sandoval all of Belen, NM; Daughter Gigi Sena and husband John, and grand children Noel Barela, her husband Roy Barela and great grand children Savannah and Sabrina, grand sons Paul Rosa and John Rosa of Clovis.
She is also survived by a sister Paula Armstrong and her son Mark Wells of Seattle, Washington.
Vida Grace was a painter and an extremely intelligent woman who tried to keep learning all her life. An accomplishment was graduating with a Bachelors Degree in Psychology and in Art from Fort Lewis College when she was 53.
She enjoyed all her grand- children and had a special bond with twin grandsons, Paul and John Rosa.
Services will be held Wednesday, August 22, 2007 at 10:00 am at Steed-Todd Chapel with Dr. Frank Sherman officiating. Burial will follow at Mission Garden of Memories in Clovis. Pallbearers will be Ozzy Flores, Matt Loucks, John Rosa, Trent Gutierrez, Paul Rosa, and Noel Barela. Honorary Pallbearers will be Timothy Zabicki.
