Violet Eva Steele, loving mother and grandmother died on January 6, 2012 of natural causes. Violet was born on April 2, 1924 in St. Petersburg, Florida. She moved to Tucumcari in 1980 where she worked as a cook for Dan C. Trigg and A W root beer, also as a maid for Travel Lodge and 54 Motel. She retired in 1987. For the past five years she has been living with her son Todd.
She is survived by two daughters, Dollie Wright Bill of Crestline, California and Helena Steele of Yermo, California three sons, Bob Steele Janice of New Berry Springs, California, Durward Wampler Sylvia, and Todd Steele, both of Tucumcari, New Mexico one sister, Lottie Leddbetter of Crosby, Texas one brother Earl Graham of Eugene Oregon eighteen grandchildren twentynine great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by two husbands one sister three brothers and three grandchildren.
Following her wishes, she has been cremated.
A Memorial Service for Violet will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, January 13, 2012 at The End of The Road Ministries, 424 S. Monroe in Tucumcari with Brother Dale Cordova, officiating.
