Violeta P. Cook, age 88, of Clovis, New Mexico, passed away on Thursday, December 8, 2011 at Plains Regional Medical Center in Clovis. Violeta was born on May 1, 1923 in Electra, Texas to Byron and Eula Hester Lucore. She married V.R. Bud Cook on February 17, 1940 in Walters, Oklahoma. She farmed with her husband north of Clovis for over 40 years. She and her husband owned and operated Quality Gas Service Station at 7th and Hull for many years. She was a member of Westbrook Baptist Church in Clovis.
Violeta is survived by two daughters, Peggy Helfferich and Brenda Cook of Clovis, NM two sisters, Betty Williams and her husband C.L. of Myra, Texas, and Bonnie Harpold of Fern, Nevada one granddaughter, Debra Cook and her husband Sam of Clovis, NM one grandson, Patrick Linenberger of Lubbock, TX great grandchildren, Jessica Archuleta and her husband Brian of Clovis, NM, Jonathan Ritchie of Clovis, NM, Brandon Cook of Amarillo, TX, Kelly Cook of Clovis, NM nine great great grandchildren one great great great grandchild and numerous nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her husband V.R. Bud Cook one grandson, Wayne Young one sister Juanita Stout and one brother R.B. Lucore.
Services for Violeta will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, December 13, 2011 at Westbrook Baptist Church with Pastor Furgus Tunnell, officiating. Burial will follow at Lawn Haven Memorial Gardens.
