Virginia Dickenson

Virginia Dickenson, 76, of Clovis, New Mexico, died Saturday, December 1, 2007, at Retirement Ranch in Clovis. She was born December 18, 1930, in Melvin, Texas to J. B. Velma Herrin New.

She moved to Clovis in 1966 where she married the love of her life, Melvin Dickenson on May 20. She was an avid volunteer and did work with the Food Bank and the residents at Retirement Ranch. She was a member of Bethel Assembly of God Church.

She is survived by 4 sisters, Pat Henderson of Holliday, Texas, Jo Nell Franklin Loyd of Carlsbad, New Mexico, Nadine Nunley Sam of Waxahachie, Texas and June Kinsey Dennis of Artesia, New Mexico; 3 brothers, Eugene New Norma of Rockwall, Texas, Glynn New Trudy of Midland, Texas and Dean New of Garland, Texas and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband and 1 brother, Darrell New.

Services will be at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, December 4, 2007, at Steed-Todd Chapel in Clovis with Rev. Lemuel Perry and Rev. Keeney Ray Dickenson officiating. Burial will follow at Texico Cemetery in Texico, New Mexico.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6:00 8:00 p.m. Monday, December 3. Memorial contributions may be made to Bethel Assembly of God.
