Virginia Lee Pettigrew, 53, of Clovis, New Mexico, died Tuesday, August 18, 2009, at her home. She was born March 13, 1956 in Clovis to George Dixie Pettigrew.

She was a lifelong Curry County resident and graduated from Grady High School in 1974. She graduated from New Mexico State University and received a Masters Degree from Eastern New Mexico University. She worked several years as a counselor at the Vocational Rehab Center until her retirement. She loved photography and after her retirement she worked on her computer creating photo projects. She was a member of Broadview Church of Christ.

She is survived by her mother, Dixie Pettigrew of Grady; nieces, Falon Pettigrew of Clovis, Michell Edwards of Broadview and Donna Ewers of Canyon, Texas; nephew, Danny Crowley of Portales and sister-in-law, Edna Pettigrew. She was preceded in death by her father and brother, Neal Pettigrew.

Services will be at 2:00 p.m. Friday, August 21, 2009, at Broadview Church of Christ in Broadview, New Mexico, with Bob Martin and Ron Bontrager officiating. Burial will follow at Grady Cemetery in Grady, New Mexico.

Casket bearers will be Danny Crowley, Wade Edwards, Everett Ewers, Jerry Powell, Lynn Hughes, Bill Page, Sheldon Null and Wesley Mote. Honorary casket bearers will be all friends and neighbors.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Grady High School Scholarship Fund or to the charity of your choice.
