Virginia Reid

Virginia Reid, born in Clovis, New Mexico and resident of Ranchvale, peacefully departed this life and went to be with the Lord on November 4, 2023 at the age of 94.

Virginia's love for her family knew no bounds, especially for her husband of 61 years, John Reid.

Virginia was a member of Kingswood Methodist Church since 1950. She served in all offices of Women's Society of Christian Service of Kingswood Methodist Church, all offices of the Ranchvale Extension Club, was Vice-President and Secretary of the Curry County Extension Council, was member and Secretary of the Carver Public Library board, and served as Vice-President and Secretary of WSCS. She was also a graduate of Homemakers College of New Mexico State University with 20 years of attendance.

She found joy in attending church and fellowship with her friends and family. She loved tending to her garden and home. Above all else, she found peace and comfort in her personal relationship with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.

Virginia is preceded in death by her parents, Thelma and Joseph Dudly Crump; her husband, John Reid; two sisters, Gladys Stewart and Gene Stovall; and one great-granddaughter, Elizabeth Jean Reid.

Virginia is survived by her two children Wayne (Donna) Reid and Marla (Mike) Wersonick; three grandkids Gary Reid, Michael Reid and Leslie (David) Sikes; five great-grandkids Andy Wayne Reid, J'Lea (Ivan) Rush, Austin Reid, Autumn Reid and Zach Reid.

A visitation will be held from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM on Thursday, November 9, 2023 at the Steed Todd Funeral Home Chapel in Clovis. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM on Friday, November 10, 2023 at the Kingswood Methodist Church in Clovis with Bill Case officiating. Burial will follow in Lawn Haven Memorial Gardens where she will be laid to rest next to her husband, parents and sisters. Arrangements are entrusted to Steed Todd Funeral Home of Clovis.

Virginia was a resident of the Retirement Ranch Senior Living home for the last 1 1/2 years of her life, under the care of wonderful staff. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to your favorite charity.
