Vollie Abner Ressel, 73, of Clovis, New Mexico died Tuesday, August 07, 2007 at Laurel Ridge Healthcare. He was born October 8, 1933 in Knox County, Texas to Theodore Roosevelt Ruth Castleman Ressel.
He served in the U. S. Army for two years and worked for the A. T. S. F. Railroad from November 1951 to November 1994 in the Communications Department. He married Margaret Tarin June 19, 1965 in Los Chaves, New Mexico. He was baptized the summer of 1947 and attended 21st Street Church of Christ in Clovis. He was a member of Clovis Masonic Lodge 40 A. F. A. M.
He is survived by his wife, Margaret Ressel of the home in Clovis; 1 daughter Melanie Kay Ressel-Parson Bradley Earl of Colorado Springs, Colorado; 1 brother, Ronnie L. Ressel Lawanda of Dickens, Texas and 1 sister, Katherine New Jack of Liberty Hill, Texas. He was preceded in death by his parents; 1 sister, Jo Etta Cartwright and 1 brother-in-law, W. T. Cartwright.
Services will be at 10:00 a.m. Thursday, August 9, 2007 at 21st Street Church of Christ in Clovis with Larry Tittle and Cecil Bunch officiating. Burial will be at 2:00 CDT, Friday, August 10, 2007 at Benjamin Cemetery, Benjamin, Texas with Terry Tracy Cartwright, officiating.
Casket bearers will be Charlie Eldridge, Chord Duncan, Wayne Tucker, Paul McAlister, Ron Johnson and Bill Morrison.
Memorial contributions may be made to 21st Street Church of Christ or the Christian Childrens Home.
