W. Floyd Sheridan, 85, of Clovis, N. M., died Saturday, December 16, 2006 at Farwell Convalescent Center in Farwell, Tex. He was born November 28, 1921 in Broadview, N. M. to Walter Floyd and Pearl Stout Sheridan.
He married Peggy Lou Vaughan on January 30, 1952. He served in the U. S. Army during World War II. He had been a resident of Clovis the past 6 years, moving to Clovis from May, Tex. He had also been a longtime resident of Denver, Colorado. He was a truck driver and raised cattle. He loved to go salmon fishing. He was a member of 21st Street Church of Christ in Clovis.
He is survived by 2 daughters, Jaton Tawny Wurzer Myron of Vancouver, Washington and Barbara Burke Gary of Tillamook, Oregon; 4 grandchildren, Phillip Gardner, Melissa Wurzer, Valerie Wurzer and Mark Wurzer; 1 brother, Garland Sheridan of Hawley, Tex.; 2 sisters, Fannie Anderson of Searcy, Ark. and Bertha Welch of Clovis and nephew Carrel Dennington Murl of Clovis.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife and 1 grandson, Stephen Gardner.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Teen Fund at 21st Street Church of Christ in Clovis.
Services will be at 10:00 a.m. Thursday, December 21, 2006 at Steed-Todd Chapel in Clovis with Cecil Bunch officiating. Burial will follow at Melrose Cemetery in Melrose, N. M.
