Wade Roberts

Wade P. Roberts, 73 passed away in Clovis, NM on March 8, 2007. He was born on June 17, 1933 in Tabor City, NC to Henry and Grace Roberts. After high school, he joined the Air Force and after basic training at Lackland AFB, TX he was stationed at Clovis Air Force Base. He met and married Julia Floydeen Rierson in Clovis in January 1953. He is survived by his wife, of the home; one son Ronald Wade Roberts of Livingston, TX; three daughters Uvonne Robertson Keith of Clovis, Waydeen Johnson Wade of Apache Junction, AZ, Tammy Cox Clint of Lubbock, TX; a sister Bonnie Floyd of Loris, SC. He is also survived by nine grandchildren and fourteen greatshy; grandchildren, and numerous nieces, and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Hamp Roberts and by his mother-in-law and father in-law, who he loved so much, Jessie and Callie Rierson of Clovis. He served 21 years in the Air Force and also owned and operated his own appliance repair business and opened a religious book store in Clovis, Muleshoe and Harker Heights, Texas called The Good News Bookstore. Wade was a member of the New Mexico Baptist Chaplain's Association and Sandia Baptist Church. He loved his church family.

Services will be Monday, March 12, 2007 at 10:00 a.m. at Sandia Baptist Church with Dr. Herbert Bergstrom and Rev. Jason Schwope officiating. Burial will follow at the Hollene Cemetery, Hollene, New Mexcio. Full military honors will be by the Cannon Air Force Base Honor Guard.
