Walter Cravy

Walter Snap Cravy, 90, of Clovis died Thursday, April 12, 2007 at Covenant Medical Center in Lubbock, TX. He was born September 11, 1916 in Roswell, NM to Isaac Alexander and Annie May Williams Cravy.

Snap married Betty Waggoner on June 7, 1957 in Clovis. He was a Clovis resident for 88 years. He worked as the Agent for the Santa Fe Railroad until his retirement. He loved fishing, going to Branson, MO, playing cards and family get togethers. His children and grandchildren were the love of his life.

Snap was a member of Clovis Masonic Lodge 40 AFAM where he was a 32nd Degree Mason. He was also a member of the Clovis Shrine Club. He was a member of Central Baptist Church in Clovis.

He is survived by two sons, Tommy V. Marie Cravy of Santa Maria, CA, and Richard Lynn Dee Cravy of Amarillo, TX; two sons by marriage, Carl Roy Pam Tipton of Lubbock and Fred Lee Sue Tipton of Guymon, OK; two sisters, Joann Goodwin of Clovis and Doris McCoy of Tucumcari; 13 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; and 1 great-great-granddaughter. He was preceded in death by his parents and his wife Betty in 2005.

Services will be held at 6:00 pm on Sunday, April 15, 2007 at Steed-Todd Chapel in Clovis with Darren Tipton officiating. Graveside services will be held at 11:00 am on Monday, April 16, 2007 at Lawn Haven Memorial Gardens in Clovis with Clovis Lodge 40 performing Masonic Rites. The family will receive friends before the service Sunday from 4 to 6 pm at the funeral home.

Casket bearers will be Kevin Cravy, Dan Pierce, Daniel Cravy, Arnold Knight, Colt Cross, Kia Tapaha, Kipp Lester, and Ryan Cravy. Honorary Casket Bearers will be Tydan Pierce, Coby Knight, Crystalynn Tapaha, and Dr. Ruben Villa.

Memorial contributions may be made to Prostate Cancer Research.
