Wanda Nuckolls

Wanda Dorice Nuckolls, 74, of Las Vegas, New Mexico passed away on January 24, 2006 at Las Vegas Medical Center Nursing Home in Las Vegas, New Mexico. She was born on April 23, 1931 in Dibble, Oklahoma to Harris and Dollie Powell HigginsbrShe is preceded in death by her parents; and three sisters, Virginia Augusta, Rosezell Putnam, and Maydell Hayes. She married Robert G. Nuckolls on April 13, 1954 in Portales, New Mexico. She was a member of the 21st Street Church of Christ for most of her life. Wanda was a devoted wife and very loving mother and grandmother. She absolutely loved all her family and friends. Wanda had many special qualities, some of which were her love of life, her quiet sense of humor, her graciousness, being able to forgive quickly, and her belief in God. Alzheimer's may have robbed her of many of these qualities, but all of them and more will live on in our memories.brbrSurvived by her husband, Robert Nuckolls of Clovis; one son, Grant Nuckolls and his wife Vickie of Clovis; one granddaughter, Tammi Martell and her husband Jeff of Mountain Home, ldaho; two great-granddaughters, Cayley and Karlie Martell of Mountain Home, ldaho; one brother, Donnavin Higgins and his wife Vonda of Amber, Oklahoma; three sisters, Delores Moore and her husband Kenton of Chickasha, Oklahoma, Freda Henson and her husband Leonard of Mustang, Oklahoma, and Estelle Lewis of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.brbrThe family will receive friends and relatives from 2:00 P.M. to 4:00 P.M. on Friday, January 27, 2006 at Steed-Todd Funeral Home. Burial will follow at the Santa Fe National Cemetery in Santa Fe, New Mexico.
