Graveside services for Wanda Ellen Sain age 86 of Melrose, New Mexico will be held Monday, September 23, 2013 at 10:00 a.m. at Melrose Cemetery in Melrose with Rev. Bethany Carpenter officiating. Wanda was born April 3, 1927 in Ardmore, Oklahoma to Ed and Rilla Pratt Long. She passed away Wednesday, September 18, 2013 at Heartland Continuing Care Center in Portales, New Mexico.

Wanda was a longtime resident of Melrose and had volunteered for the Salvation Army for many years and worked at the Melrose Schools as a custodian until she retired. After retirement Wanda worked in outreach at the Melrose Senior Center and was a member of Eastern Star, the Melrose Senior Center, First United Methodist Church in Melrose, and she made more wedding and birthday cakes for residents of Melrose than anyone else.

Wanda is survived by fifteen nieces and nephews and preceded in death by her parents her husband Earl Sain fifteen brothers, sisters and other siblings.
