Waneice Dougherty

Waneice T. Dougherty, age 90, of Clovis, NM passed away on May 28, 2014 at Retirement Ranch in Clovis, NM.

Waneice was born on November 11, 1923 in Slaton, TX to Chester and Annie Bargsley Tevis. She moved to the Clovis area with her family where they farmed in Arch, NM. After graduating from Portales High School, she married George Dougherty on June 13, 1941 in Portales, NM. They came to Clovis where he worked as a contractor for many years. Waneice was a homemaker, enjoying fishing, sewing and painting. She was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Clovis.

Waneice is survived by one son: Al Dougherty Audrey and one daughter: Dea Bombarger Coy, all of Clovis, NM seven grandchildren and sixteen great grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her parents and her husband.

A Rosary will be recited at 6:00 p.m. of Friday, May 30, 2014 at SteedTodd Funeral Home Chapel in Clovis, NM. Graveside services are at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, May 31, 2014 at Lawn Haven Memorial Gardens in Clovis, NM with Father Carlos Chavez officiating.
