Warren Lee Nuckols Sr., Retired CMSGT, 89 of Clovis passed away November 14, 2015.
A Rosary and Eulogy will be held 6:00 p.m. at Steed Todd Chapel, Thursday November 19, 2015.
Funeral Services will be held 11:00 a.m. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Saturday November 21, 2015 with burial following at Lawn Haven Memorial Garden. A reception will be held at Sacred Heart Catholic Church after the burial.
Warren was born October 14, 1926 to John Thomas Nuckols Jr and Nannie Troxler Nuckols in Richmond, Virginia. He graduated from Marshall District High School and at the age of 17 entered into the Navy, which he served for 15 years. After the Navy he joined the Air Force and served 11 years there. Warren served his country for 26 years. He was in World War II Korean and the Vietnam War. During his tours of duty he received many honors; Good conduct medal (Navy) 3 bronze stars, World War II victory medal, American campaign medal, Asiatic pacific campaign medal, European-African-Middle Eastern campaign medal, Navy occupation service medal (with clasp) Asia, China service medal, National defense service medal, Korean service medal, United Nations service medal, Presidential unit citation (Republic Korea), Republic of Korea War service medal, Commendation medal, Gallant unit citation, Army of occupation medal, Army good conduct, and Air Force Longevity services medal. After 43 years serving our country, Warren retired. He franchise with Radio Shack and owned 3 Best Video Stores. Warren had several different hobbies and became champion in a couple of his hobbies like skeet shooting and in bowling. He also enjoyed riding go carts. Warren was a member of the Cannon Air Force Bowling Thursday Mix Bowling League. In 2005 he converted to Catholic.
Warren is preceded in death by his parents John and Nannie Nuckols, his first wife JoAn Reeves Nuckols, son Kent Irwin Nuckols, 2 brothers; George Nuckols, John Nuckols III, 5 sisters; Anne McCoy, Katharine Griffin, Marin Layman, Dorothy Shumaker, and Jane Sprouse,
He is survived by his wife Emma Nuckols, Children Warren Nuckols Jr and wife Judy, Charmaine Mertz and husband Leonard, Ma Therese Lovelyn Tantoco, Johnryl Tantoco, brother Jean Nuckols 12 grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren, 1 great great grandchild, and one sister in law Joyce Nuckols.
