Weldon Travis Hawk
Born- December 27th 1928 to Joe and Lurline Hawk in Paduka, Texas. Weldon and family moved to Sudan, Texas via a covered wagon in the early 30's. Growing up with four brothers and one sister. Weldon lost his mother when he was four years old and a brother who was 14 at the time to medical complications of the day.
Weldon was a 11 generation carpenter, and member of the Carpenters Union for 35 years. He was also a member of the Elks Lodge, Eagles, Freemason's and Shriners.
Weldon lived in Clovis since 1959 and enjoyed horseracing, camping and fishing.
Weldon was a job foreman for such projects in Clovis like Citizens Bank, The Federal Building, Sandia and Zia Elementary' s as well as many projects for Cannon Air Force Base.
Weldon married Betty Ann Sherrill on March 23, 1951. They had four children: Carol Hawk of McAlester, OK; Benny Hawk of Clovis; Gary Hawk of Nelsonville Ohio and a daughter named Vivian Ann who was born still born.
Proceeded in death by his parents Joe and Lurline, his brothers J.L. Hawk, Nathan Hawk, Pauline Fulcher, Freddy Hawk, Jack Hawk and one daughter Vivian Ann. Two wives: Betty Ann Sherril and Cloreta Joyce Fox.
Survived by his children; Carol Sue Hawk of McAlester, Benny Thomas Hawk of Clovis, Gary Wayne Hawk of Nelsonville, Ohio. Weldon also leaves a proud legacy of five grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren. And his most favorite cherry cobbler maker, Radine Boney.
Service will be at 1:00 P.M. January 29th, 2016 at Steed-Todd Chapel. Burial will follow in Sudan, TX. at the Sudan Cemetery.
