William Ake

William Runt Ake, age 83, of Portales, New Mexico passed away on April 16, 2012 at Clovis Healthcare and Rehab in Clovis, New Mexico.

William was born on November 23, 1928 in Lamesa, Texas to Burt and Hazel Richards Ake. He married Patsy Ruth Jones on September 7, 1960 in Lubbock, Texas. She preceded him in death on March 13, 1997.

William worked for many years for the cities of Belton and Baytown, Texas in the street maintenance department. He loved to play the fiddle as he was a selftaught musician. He was of the Baptist faith.

He is survived by six sons: Larry Ake of Pauls Valley, Oklahoma, Windell Sheila Ake of Buffalo, Kentucky, Windell Sylvia Jones of New Braunfels, Texas, Curtis Ake of Oceanside, California, Ronnie Ake of New Braunfels, Texas and Donny Mona Lisa Ake of Portales, New Mexico two daughters: Elaine Leslie Graham of Pauls Valley, Oklahoma and Debra Ake of Midland, Texas one twin brother: Ray Ake of Bryant, Arkansas fourteen grandchildren and twentyone great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Patsy, four sisters: Francis, Mary, Virginia and Mary Lou and three brothers: Fred, Billy and Pete.

Graveside Services are at 3:00 p.m. on Friday April 20, 2012 Earthmans Memory Gardens in Baytown, Texas.
